DAY 12 Essaouira
10th December 2005
As we wanted to go on a boat trip to see nearby Mogador Island, and also to do some fishing, we first headed over to the harbour to see what was available. A man showed us boatyard, where there were many large wooden boats out of the water being built and repaired. He then took us over to someone who offered to take us out the next day for 1000dh for the three of us. We decided instead to see what we could arrange through the hotel when we got back.

The next task was to find the only off-licence in town, which proved difficult due to being very inconspicuous. In the end a helpful lady led us right to the door. After stocking up on wine and beer we shopped for food to take advantage of the kitchen in our apartment - bread, eggs, corriander, chillis, tomatos, red onions, limes and fresh fish from a stall outside the fish market. At the hotel we organised to meet a fisherman at the harbour the next morning at 8 to take us out in a boat.
